I was casually strolling in a mall in Abu Dhabi, a few days back and my gaze happened to fall on the décor items being set up at Daiso, the Japanese store. There were red heart shaped cushions, teddy bears, and all things symbolizing love and I realized it was soon time for one of the world’s most favorite celebrations – The Valentine’s Day. Just when we had recovered from Christmas (which also happens to be one of the world’s greatest celebrations) and the holidays, there comes yet another festive season – the season of love.

The origin of Valentine’s Day is through the martyrdom of a Roman saint – St. Valentine. Saint Valentine was a widely recognized 3rd-century Roman saint, commemorated in Christianity on February 14.
