SEBAMED Extreme Dry Skin Repair Lotion

If you’re someone like me, with scaly and dry skin (especially on your arms and legs), then you’ve found yourself the right product. I’d like to believe that you are here on this blog to review and research about this product before you decide to buy it for yourself; and if that’s the case you must get your hands on it, after reading my review of course.

I have dry skin all throughout the year; It is at its worst in the winter, but just about the same in the summer and the rest of the year. So, this lotion turned out to be a savior for me.

As mentioned in bold on the front side of its packaging it –

  • Alleviates acute itching
  • Relieves dry and flaky skin
  • Skin Care for atopic eczema, diabetes and psoriasis

And I can vouch for the authenticity of the first two 2 points.

It is filled with the goodness of Urea (at 10%), which is an excellent ingredient for combating skin dryness, flakiness and redness. Other amazing ingredients constituting this lotion are Glycerin; Hexyldecanol (emollient and skin-softening agent) *; Prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil (emollient to help skin retain moisture) *.

Now let me take you through my experience with the product. I haven’t necessarily seen a total change in the very nature of my skin. My skin is still predominantly on the drier side. It hasn’t turned to being magically smooth and hydrated all the time, but whenever I apply the lotion after my showers at night – I’ve noticed, especially on my legs (where my skin is the most scaly and dry), the hydration tends to remain for the next 20-24 hours easily. The only time I feel the need to re moisturize is when I’ve had my shower the next evening. So,100 points for providing long lasting moisture and hydration.

Since this is a lotion, I generally stick to using it only on my hands and legs and sometimes on my shoulder area, but not on my face. I have a feeling, for usage on my face, it perhaps won’t be as excellent as it is on my body, because of its heavy texture. On my face I generally prefer a light weight moisturizer, so that it works well with the other serums and products in my regimen.

But this one by Sebamed is an excellent hydrator for your body, if you severe dry, flaky and itchy skin; and for as long as it’s available on the shelves, it’s getting added to my cart!

That’s all for now. Bye!
